JMD + Foreign Cultures

Ever since i had my homestay programme with Kayo-san, my interest about japanese culture started then...

And so when i was in year 1, i joined my sch japanese culture club. Well, although it's a dance division, i still learn about the japanese culture i yearn to find out more. It's not much, but good enough to "diao wo wei kou" [continue to make me curious]. haha...

During my first year in the club, i'm a very active member in the club. The main committee took notice on me, probably becuz my ex- boyfriend was in main comm too. but i suppose my interest towards japanese culture fascinate them. I learnt to tie a obi[the ribbons behind the costume] too. It was very interesting...

Second year, danny took over as president of JMD. i'm still an active member of JMD. The highlight of that year is that i learnt about chado, "cha dao" another word "the art[the way] of making tea. It happened during our camp and senseis from japan came. Only me, zatto and someone else[cant remember] were invited to witness the ceremony. We also started doing our own tea under their supervisions. i know i can heard someone complaining. but it's the past le. let it rest ok? =P sorry!

My last year in sch, i'm no longer an active member of JMD as i had decided to focus on my studies [for my GPA is only 2.3] . Nothing happen much for the current main committee is not so into their culture i guess.

Few months back i watch a documentary show about a japanese traditional dance: mushi no ne. It's a dance that take years to master. from the feelings, to the move and the correct timing to move. U need at least a 70 years old granny is able to bring all these out. It was indeed impressive.

since secondary 1, i started studying about the japanese costume. realised that there are kimono and yukata exists and the way of making them. Started learning the basic word [japanese alphabets] and knew the 3 different types. Their main staple food and many many more. Well, that speak of my poor result in the later years. haha...

The recent craze about korean drama din really interest much... ok, i admit, i've tried learning their language. =P But the moment i realised about their basic alphabet i almost faint. There's even more to learn for korean language!

Anyway, started watching "Da Chang Jin" drama on the tv few days back when it telecast in channel U, the interest grew on me again. I want to find out more about their culture. But of cuz, i wun give up on my japaneses culture too. I'm still very interested abt them.

chang jin so li hai wor!!! *envy

Keke, gottta end le. Thank you so much for listening to my nagging post today. haha... Thank you!
