Written my Taiwan wedding photo shoot and holiday trip prolly 5 months ago. Didn't post because i didn't complete. Now looking back, i cant remember what i really do each day. But definitely filled with shopping, food and relaxation for our 8D7N trip. All photos can be found on my hubby facebook =)

My First Photo shoot Diary

22 March 2012
Planned to leave for airport at 10pm and i had a list of must dos before i'm out. Count on my efficiency, i managed to get all done and i'm prepare for my holiday. Thanks to my future brother in law who spent his precious weekend to send us to airport.

23 March 2012
Not feeling excited at all, but dear was feeling happy and excited about the trip thou. Maybe work, maybe family, maybe worried that the photoshoot i took turned out bad or the money that we might spent on additional photos.

As usual, we always like to take SQ flight to taiwan, for comfort and their generous luggage allowance. Specially this time round, we had lotsa stuffs to prepare for our photoshoot, like suit and shoes.

We arrived taoyuan international airport at 6.10am in the morning, so we took our own sweet time to collect bags and head to a mobile operator counter which open at 7am in the morning to get our data plan. Cant get out of touch of the world you know =)

To save more cost, we took coach bus via guokuang operator at abt NT125 to Taipei Main Station for transit to Keelung. Then additional NT55 from Taipei Main Station to Keelung at West Bus Terminal. Dragging our luggage to the Terminal is a killer! Stop half way to fill our stomach with chicken sandwich and mineral water at 7-11. Always amazed and love what their convenience store offers!

Despite wasting time here and there, we arrive at Keelung at 10am in the morning. As we had arranged to meet our bridal shop at 11am, we decided to explore the place and be adventurous by walking to our destination with our luggages. I was feeling kinda frustrated due to the lack of proper sleep and the sudden very warm weather at keelung. The sun was beaming strongly! But nevertheless, halfway the journey, i felt much better and was enjoying the adventure at the same time.

We did manage to find our hotel first and then with their friendly guide, we arrived our bridal shop 15 mins earlier.

The sales person at our bridal shop was very helpful and thoughful and went out to get breakfast for us immediately when we decline politely. She returns shortly with many delicious food and waited patiently while we having our breakfast. Love their meatball, mee sua and tian bu la! Best food is found in keelung!

When we are done, we went up the second level to choose my gowns, as i have no idea where to start, dear told them abt my preference and the sales person slowly took wedding gowns that i might gets fancy on. The entire gowns choosing was relatively fast as both dear and i are very decisive person. All done in less than 3 hours. We will told to return in the evening for final fitting and choosing of groom's suit. So we went to check in to our room and nap for 2 hours before heading out to miaokou nightmarket for our dinner.

When we returned, the gowns were already altered and the amazing tailor altered on the spot in minutes, within 30 mins, all gowns fitted perfectly on me. Wonderful Service from them! Despite bringing our own suits, Dear also choose his suits for additional look for the photos. So in less than 1 hour, all dressing for photoshoots are settled.

Then my MUA (Makeup Artist) came to discuss on the looks that i preferred or any hairstyles that i love. As i had no ideas what to expect, i briefly told her when i might not like and ask for her opinions and her free style to do whatever style that might suits me.

Then they also discussed on the routes that we would like to have our photos taken, such as locations, photoshooting style etc etc. Due to the bad weather forecast, we will advice to head south for our photoshoot. We wanted to stay north to get our shoots taken, as we love their locations here but had to head to taichung reluntantly due to possible rain.

So we pray super hard for good weather before sleep...

24 March 2012

As predicted, the weather looks kinda bad when we head to the bridal shop early to get our makeup done. The weather turned exceptionally cold and damp as we arrived at the bridal shop. As i'm getting my makeup done, was happily chatting with my MUA until we realise we short of time! haha! Mandy is such a cheerful person and nv guess that she's a hot mama of a 5 years old kid and she is still younger than me! wtf!

Our driver of the day, Hui ge also arrived and he was hurrying Mandy to get done asap as we are heading to Taichung due to bad weather. Love their quarelsome conversation that keeps the feeling upbeat and cheerful. Mandy also did my hair quickly and harsh me upstair to change into my gown. Once done, she hurried to start on Dear's make up and hair.

Ah tiong, camera's man assistance also arrived and was packing all sort of stuffs into the 7 seaters taxi and the camera man, Jin Sir arrived when we about to leave.

Along the way to Taichung, they started all noisy and chatty and half way the journey, all of us felt asleep while we got struck in a traffic jam. I drift in and out of sleep throughout the journey.

When we arrived at the first stop for photoshoot, Mandy sugguested to head for a restroom and i agreed too after the long journey. The weather was so cold that we had to purchase heat pad at the convenience store to keep warm.

And there we go, i took off my winter jacket and brave the cold and showing my pearly which rarely appeared in my photos.. What makes me worried was that Dear was getting sick from all the coldness, even thou he is still dressing more pieces than i do...

The cold was almost unbearable when we were taking our shoots overlooking mountain. The open space around the platform had no protection from the wind blowing all around. I was using Dear as my only protector from the cold winds...

Another obstacle that i was facing, my shoes. at least 4 inches high which was needed to match dear's height. It wasn't so bad with walking until i need to walk thru pebbles road and climbing up and down with it. I'm torturing myself! haha!

The worst cold was when we were at the beach taking our sunset pics. I wore the least for this shot and the big winds was blowing and feets in cold water. I'm not sure how you wanna imagine it, but maybe wearing tees and shorts and no shoes in snow sort of made up how i felt. I was shivering non stop. And it was so bad that i couldn't control my tears and runny nose. FML x 10000000000 Totally unglam moments! OMG! haha!

Before we left Taichung for our final location, we had dinner at one of the street food and it was one of the best food i had ever in Taiwan  meatball soup, smelly tofu, preserved veg and tian bu la. Too bad, i wasn't feeling so well to eat more...

It's another 2-3 hours drive back to Taipei, and all of us fell asleep while Hui ge was driving us back. I drift in and out of sleep, but this time round, i was awake most of the time. We arrived at our last shooting location shortly due to less traffic and Taipei weather was also quite cold but not comparable to the numb and shivering at the beach earlier. I can endure cold, but not when i'm wearing nothing except the thin gown.

The last location was rather slow cuz we're waiting for the "right" moment to appear. Well actually waiting for a short circuit street lamp to light up for the shoot. While waiting, i was wearing my jacket and removing as fast as i can when it was "right". Thanks goodness, we ended everything about 8pm and arrived keelung before 9pm.

Maybe after reading all the negative reviews about this bridal salon, i wasn't expecting much from them and it turns out not bad after all. Even though the quality of their gowns ain't fantastic but it definitely look gorgerous in the photos. Which reminds of the overcharge bridal salon we engaged in Singapore. Another story for another day.

We rushed back to hotel and back to Keelung night market, miaokou and found that our favourite sashimi store was not opened that day. So end up we ate some random local foods before heading back to rest. Ever since i arrived Taipei, i had no appetite at all even though i am a sucker for their local food. wtf!

25 March 2012

Woke up around 9am to head for our breakfast and packed our luggage before heading to the salon to pick our photos. We will early so we went to this breakfast shophouse for our lunch. Their soya milk was served in a bowl and it taste slightly different from Singapore. Their fry pancake with egg were delicious too. Had to queue for an hour to dine-in and probably 2 hours for take away. Crazy or not?! But it was really mouthwatering! =P

So after eliminate hundreds over photos and sat there for 2 hours. Dear decided to buy the rest of the photos... and it cost additional of SGD1,400 for an upsize album, 300 thank you card, 3d montage and additional 40++ pics. Nevertheless it was quite a bargain as in Sin, there wun be such a good deal. But still, my heart still pains for paying so much for something that will be kept in the cupboard... T__T

When everything was arranged and accounted for, we left at around 4pm to head back to taipei. As usual, we decided to drag our luggage few km away to the bus terminal and another 1 hour to arrive ximending.

Call to meet up our mingshu owner and was glad that they managed to give us the room we requested initially. Sunny is a really friendly lady! And thanks Billy too! Everything there was wonderful. Room that is big enough for our luggages, sofa, tv console, washing machine etc. Even towels are provided. Unlike those hotels that we had stayed previously. Best experience apartment so far! Gonna book there again for our next trip!
