Health issues for pet and human

Hi peeps sorry for the lack of update recently. As mentioned in the earlier post, my poor prince boy got maggots infection on his last toe (hind leg). Took urgent leave to bring him all over the place to find a vet that doesnt require any amputation of his toe (as requested by my dad).

He got "hospitalise" at the vet the day before good friday for 3-4 days and we visit him regularly to check on his status of recovery. Maggots cleared by sunday and we brought him home with open wound. Yeah, the open wound will takes another 2-4 weeks time to be fully healed. Constant care is required to prevent any maggots infestion on his wound again, the reason why i got exceptionally busy for the next 1 month or so till he is fully recovered.

I just pray that he will stop licking his wound and no more maggots please.

No pictures cuz seriously i think all of you will be sick after looking at his open wound. I got pretty disgusted initially but got quite used to it later on cuz i need to keep his wound dry and clean. So no pictures for this post. =P

Since this post started with health issue of my prince boy, i should continue with another one for our information (human).

Influenza is a common infection spread through saliva and close contact with infected person.(according to my observance and the facts) Many would had heard of spanish influenza epidemic that happened in 1918 across europe and the world. Yup, it's mentioned in the book Twilight as well =P.

Anyway i just happen to come across with this documentary show screen few days back on national geographic channel and continued watching this show since i caught flu easily as compare to others.

The epidemic of cuz doesnt spread throughout the world in 1 day and kill millions of people in an alarming spreed. It was found that the virus was carried from birds to human, which is the reason why the deadly flu was spread across the world over such a short period of time.

Technology in the past is not advanced like now and virus is not even discover until 1940s. Virus itself is much much smaller than bacteria. So the virus got mutated and it become a full brown "killer" flu virus that almost 200 millions people within 1 year. It was named as "spanish influenza" was because Spain is not involved in war during that period and have gotten more attention in terms of media.

Research studies is still going on now to prevent such tragedy repeat again by using frozen bodies found in alaska.

Strangely, most young adults got hit with the flu badly as compare to older adults and many died within a short time. The epidemic was over after 1 year and the virus apprently did not surface again after that.

I considered myself as a young adult was hopefully by the time the flu epidemic hit as again, i would be a old adult so that i wun get hit by the virus. hehe =X

Anyway, i hope you wun be bored after reading my summary of the documentary show but national geographic channel is always the source of my general knowledge. So hope the above will widen your view of horizon. =) Good night!
